This Dynamic Duo has been delighting San Francisco Bay Area audiences with their varied and inventive repertoire for over 20 years. Now they can be heard performing previously unrecorded pieces on this release. The program includes works from Baroque oboe transcriptions to third-stream jazz to a song cycle for voice, saxophones and piano in which the Duo collaborates with which highly acclaimed mezzo-soprano Stephanie Friedman, a featured singer in John Adams' operas Nixon in China and The Death of Klinghoffer. Recorded in the excellent acoustics of the College of Notre Dame's chapel in Belmont, California and engineered by Paul Stubblebein of the Rocket Lab, this unusual and unique recording has many special moments.
